Score Car Buffing System
Kleen Car announces it's new SCORE buffing system and new SCORE buffing pads.

New Milford, NJ. - January 8, 2007, At Kleen Car, we have always been firm believers that too many multiple buffing products and too many buffing pad choices, is only beneficial to the company selling them. With that in mind, we would like to introduce our new SCORE-ing system. We have paired our industry leading line of Optimum buffing products with our brand new SCORE buffing pads. With this unique combination of products and pads, there will not be a buffing challenge that you can’t win. Here is the in depth description of our system.

The Kleen Car SCORE-ing system is a simple, yet comprehensive buffing system designed to take the guesswork out of multiple product choice and multiple buffing pad choice. We realize that detailing is difficult enough without having to try and figure out what products to use on every vehicle and what pads to use. We have seen the multitude of choices out there and even the “scores” of choices within each manufacturer, be it pad or product manufacturer. We have combined one of the leading buffing products in the industry, the Optimum line of products, which we helped develop, along with our brand new SCORE 7 inch buffing pads. With our SCORE-ing system, there is a product and pad that can be used in every possible combination, for ANY type of buffing operation you are performing, on ANY type of vehicle! Combine that with the fact that our SCORE-ing will work with a rotary buffer or Porter Cable orbital buffer, and there will never be a need to have on hand more than what you see here. In addition, our system will work on ANY paint system in ANY shop situation. ALL of our products are body shop safe and paintable! A detail shop, a mobile detailer, a car enthusiast, a body shop, or ANYBODY who want to produce a show-car like shine should use our SCORE-ing system!

The SCORE cross cut foam pads!

We developed the SCORE cross cut foam buffing pads by working in concert with a major buffing pad manufacturer and exhaustively testing dozens of prototypes. The major benefits of the SCORE pads many. First, we “scored” or cross cut the foam to form light grooves in the face of the pad. This “scoring” effect allows excess product to make its way into the “scores” and away from the top surface where clogging can occur. If the user needs a little extra product for a difficult section, simply press the pad against the paint surface to squeeze more product on the paint surface. The Score pad will nearly eliminate buffer chatter and bounce, and the “grippy” feeling which occurs with some soft pads or when excess product sits on the top surface of the pad.

We also “scored” the very outer edge of the pad to avoid a sharp edge. The back of the SCORE pad is recessed to allow a perfect fit for out matching, flexible urethane backing plate. This makes centering of the pad much easier. The one eighth inch recess also prevents the backing plate from ever contacting the paint surface when buffing a panel that meets another panel at a sharp angle. Our gluing process of the Velcro to the back of the pad is also the finest in the industry, which will hold up against peeling.

Not to be forgotten as well, is the quality of our foam. We chose the finest foam to not only stand up to hard use, but the foam choices in the different categories of buffing (cutting, light or medium cut, and final polishing) are a perfect compliment to each other to produce perfect results on every paint surface. We have the perfect combination of foam choices that few other buffing pads have.

We also made the pads flat for a specific reason. There are many buffing pad companies that produce various shaped pads. The reasons were to prevent splattering and hold the product in the pad. With the SCORE pad having the cross cut design, this will help pull product into the pad and help prevent splatter. There is no need to change the shape. A flat pad will give a much more even and consistent buff.

The last, but one of the most important things is the size of the SCORE pad. We made it in a 7 inch diameter for a number of reasons. You do not need a huge diameter pad to buff a vehicle. We have championed smaller buffing pads for over 10 years, especially with a high speed buffer. Many of the other “oddly” shaped, bigger diameter pads also will not sit completely flat against the paint surface. The portion of their pad that is actually contacting the paint surface as you buff is generally much smaller than the full pad itself. These bigger diameter pads will be a nuisance and more cumbersome to buff around obstacles such as door handles, mirrors, antennas, emblems, and more. A 7 inch size is the perfect diameter pad. Also the SCORE pads can be used with either a high speed buffer or a Porter cable buffer. Simply attach our special soft urethane backing plate to each machine and you now have the same pad for both machines. Of course, this will save you money in not having to buy pads for 2 machines!
