Optimum Car Polish Buffing BMW
Kleen Car announces NEW & Improved formulation of optimum Polish

Kleen car, in conjunction with Optimum Polymer Technologies, has introduced a new and improved version of the Optimum polish. It was difficult to improve on an already perfect polish, but we saw the need to ensure that the newer, scratch resistant clear coats had a polish that would work perfectly also. With those clear coats in mind, we went back and improved the polish, making it slightly more aggressive but keeping the other great characteristics that go along with the Optimum Polish.

Optimum polish, which is one of the best products of its kind, is now even better. In February 2005, Kevin Farrell of Kleen car and David Ghodoussi of Optimum Polymer introduced a revolutionary new product to the detailing industry. To read about how the optimum polish was created. (click "download PDF" for article). Since the introduction of the Optimum polish, there have been companies that have tried to mimic the great characteristics of this product but have yet to duplicate the results.

To further understand why this is the best polish available, you need to understand the way some products perform (or don’t perform) to truly know what makes a great buffing product. Kevin at Kleen Car has some very strict specifications and demands about how a product should perform to make it the best it can be. Here is a list of what a product needs to do to be considered one of the best.

  • The polish needs to work as advertised. If it’s billed as an aggressive product, it needs to act that way. It needs to “remove” blemishes and imperfections, not fill them in or act as “make-up”.
  • The polish should have a fairly long working time and not evaporate and dry. This is accomplished by using a combination of fast, medium and slow evaporating solvents. If the product dries too quickly, you end up dry buffing. This can cause abnormal swirling, hazing, clogging of the pad, and possible burning of the paint. With a slow solvent in the product, you will be able to make many more passes without laying more product down. This will save time, limit splatter and dust, and prevent pad clogging.
  • The polish obviously needs to create a perfect gloss. A great polish will give a detailer the look of a brand new paint job without ever putting wax on the surface.
  • The polish should have limited or zero dusting. Dust is messy, abrasive and takes valuable time to clean up.
  • The polish should stay where it’s put or applied. A line of product on a vertical panel should not run and sag. It should stay there indefinitely and not dry out.
  • The polish should “remove” swirl marks, not create them. There should be zero hazing in the paint surface after using a great polish and you should be left swirl mark free with a perfect shine.
  • The polish should work with “all” buffing pads and at “all” speeds on the buffer. Regardless of using wool or foam buffing pads, the polish should work perfectly.
  • The polish should not clog any buffing pad and make you work harder to buff the paint. It should be smooth throughout the buffing process.
  • The polish should work with “all” paints. If you are working on older single stage paint such as lacquer or enamel, or any clear coat system, it should perform flawlessly.
  • The polish should work with “all” buffers. For those who like to use an orbital buffer, a high speed buffer, or even use by hand, the polish should work with all of them.
  • The polish has to wipe off the paint easily. Polishes that have to be “scrubbed” off the vehicle make for more work, and possibly putting scratches back into the paint because of the aggressiveness of the removal.
  • The polish needs to meet all the new V.O.C. regulations for safety of use
  • The polish needs to be body shop safe and paintable.

This is quite a bit to ask in a polish, or any buffing product for that matter. By the way, the Optimum compound and Hyper compound were also created with these specifications in mind. These 13 specifications that Kevin from Kleen Car demanded from David at Optimum have been met on all points. This was a product that took almost a year to create and over 50 prototypes to perfect. Some polishes meet some of these specifications, or maybe a great majority. However, the Optimum polish meets ALL these strict specifications and is truly the BEST polish on the market today. We invite you to go to the “polishes” section of our website store to try a bottle. We know that once you try the Optimum polish, you will be a true believer that there is a “perfect” polish out there.

Of course, we welcome any questions about this product or any other product that we sell. We also fully endorse and sell the complete line of optimum products on our online store.
